The first world heritage site declared by the United
Nations. This river is in the Dehcho Region of Canada's Northwest Territories.
Protected by the Nahanni National Park Reserve, the park's staff is currently
working with the Dehcho First Nations to expand the park's boundaries to
protect the area's watershed. I was fortunate enough to visit the river
three times - the last time participating in a canoe trip with the Nah?a
Dehé artists. Absolutely spectacular - wonderous beauty. This trip
might have changed my life forever....
